Saraswati Mandir Sanstha established in 1920 with an objective of providing education to the students from downtrodden class of the society. Some illiterate printing press workers working for our great founders expressed their desire to take education in the night time and our founders left no stone unturned to fulfil their noble desire. Thus Saraswati Mandir Sanstha was established in 1920. Our Poona Night School was started which only Night School outside Mumbai continuously is running for more than 100 years. Sanstha always tried to fulfill every genuine need of the students. In this direction Sanstha started a Junior College in the Night. In the late nineties need for Higher Education increased. Again to provide higher education opportunity to working students Sanstha started Night College affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune (SPPU) in 1992. The Sanstha has taken all required steps to establish the college as a premier institute providing education to working students. The college is permanently affiliated to SPPU and provides U.G.and P.G. Programmes in Arts and Commerce amongst other career courses.

Chairman of the Sanstha Mr. Vinayak Ambekar, recently elected as Senate Member of SPPU has given lions contribution in the progress of the college and presently holds the Chairmanship of the College Development Committee established as per the Maharashtra Universities Act.
